Debris

001
  • Debris is a captivating and thought-provoking immersive installation that made its debut at the 2023 Mira Festival in Barcelona, captivating audiences with its immersive exploration of space debris.
002
  • This installation confronts the pressing issue of space debris, remnants of satellites and mechanical elements floating in the void after completing their missions. Transporting spectators into the vastness of space, “Debris” prompts contemplation of humanity’s role in this cosmic landscape. At its core lies an aerotrim structure, evoking the movements of debris orbiting our planet, akin to the training apparatus used by NASA astronauts.

003
  • The installation sheds light on the Kessler syndrome, a phenomenon wherein space debris accumulation could trigger a destructive cascade effect. By highlighting the invisible waste generated by the world’s major powers, “Debris” challenges us to consider achieving balance between humanity and the universe.
004
  • Complemented by an immersive mix of music and lights, “Debris” aims to make a lasting impact on viewers, enveloping them in an environment teeming with space debris. Through this experience, viewers are invited to reflect on their responsibility in preserving equilibrium with space.
005
  • “Debris” combines art, science, and human introspection, merging AI technologies to interpret and project future numerical data on debris movement. Spectators are surrounded by rotating structures mimicking the spiraling motion of space debris, accompanied by a soundscape and lighting design amplifying the emotional impact. At its core, “Debris” challenges conventional notions of waste, urging us to reconsider our relationship with the universe.
