The Outcome: VR Experience
001
- In its ongoing exploration of immersive storytelling, Onionlab has created The Outcome: VR Experience. A virtual reality experience that invites to have a deep reflection on the environmental impact of our daily actions.
002
- The Outcome immerses users in haunting visions of potential dystopian futures shaped by our environmental choices – or by our failure to act. This visceral VR experience reveals how everyday decisions collectively determine whether our world veers toward collapse or flourishes in sustainable harmony.
003
- The project places participants face-to-face with the consequences of their actions through ten revealing questions about food consumption, living spaces, transportation, fashion habits, and waste management. Each answer dynamically shapes the virtual environment they’ll encounter in three possible dystopian future worlds – from a barren post-apocalyptic cityscape to a thriving green metropolis where nature and civilization coexist in balance.
004
- If the results of the questions are environmentally negative, the VR experience reveals a devastated world: a ruined city, devoid of vegetation, with conditions utterly incompatible with human life.
005
- With intermediate scores, the VR experience transports users to a bleak, sad and desolate future dominated by extreme technology. Where natural vegetation has been eradicated or replaced by artificial substitutes, and human survival becomes a function of ruthless utility and efficiency.
006
- In the third possibility, where there is a positive environmentally outcome, users experience a harmonious 2100 world: technology and humanity coexist with nature, working actively together to maintain planetary balance.
