Exploring the world of projectors with our Projection Mapping installations
- Projection mapping plays a critical role in our pieces, and there are various types of projectors available with their unique strengths and limitations.
Projection mapping is an increasingly popular technique that transforms inanimate surfaces, such as buildings, sculptures and stages, into engaging and unique experiences for artistic purposes, advertising, and entertainment.
We have been producing and developing mappings for over 10 years. We are pioneers and are constantly developing new concepts and approaches to push the boundaries through our projects. Here are some examples.
CLIMATE
“Climate” was a projection mapping installation that displayed two different futures in response to the critical issue of climate change. The piece was projected onto the facade of Metz Cathedral in France.
We used high-brightness projectors to create a stunning representation of a planet free from global warming and the image of a world riddled with environmental challenges. The aim of this immersive and thought-provoking experience was to raise awareness of the urgent need to take action on climate change.
High-brightness projectors are definitely at the top of the list when it comes to projection mapping tools. Thanks to their technology, they are able to deliver clear and bright pictures even in well-illuminated environments, which makes them ideal for large-scale outdoor installations. These projectors generally have a light output from 200 to 75,000 lumens.
PARADOXA
“Paradoxa” is a projection mapping installation that explores the concept of time travel. Using high-brightness projectors, we created a mesmerizing display of different architectural styles from different times that follow one another, sending the audience on an immersive journey.
The projection mapping installation challenges traditional notions of space and perception and demonstrates the potential of projection mapping to create unique experiences that push the boundaries of possibility.
EL PRADO
To mark the 200th anniversary of Museo del Prado in Madrid, we created a projection mapping installation. On the occasion, some of the museum’s most iconic paintings were brought to life, including works by artists such as Velazquez, Goya and Bosch. The piece was projected onto the museum’s facade by a total of 8 Panasonic projectors of 50,000 lumens, covering an area of over 5,000 square meters.
Panasonic projectors are well distinguished for their high resolution, durability and versatility. They are available in a wide range of brightness levels: from 3,000 to 30,000 lumens, making them suitable for any kind of video mapping applications. These projectors are ideal to adapt images to irregular surfaces thanks to advanced features like edge blending, warping and color correction.
PALACIO DE LA MAGDALENA
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of UIMP in Santander, we created a projection mapping to evoke the importance of the university as a “beacon of light” for Spanish culture. The piece was projected onto the facade of Palacio de la Magdalena, which hosts the university. For this mapping we used 6 dual Panasonic projectors of 30,000 lumens.

As a result, our studio has gained recognition for its projection mapping and audiovisual design work.

Christie is another brand that stands out. Known for their exceptional brightness, contrast, and resolution, Christie projectors are the perfect choice for creating clear and vibrant images on any surface. Additionally, these projectors offer advanced features like edge blending, warping, and color correction, making them a versatile option for any video mapping project.
Also Epson projectors are worth considering. These projectors are renowned for their high brightness and resolution, making them the ideal choice for projecting detailed and crisp images on a variety of surfaces. With advanced features like edge blending, warping, and color correction, Epson projectors are also incredibly user-friendly and customizable.
