Stage Projection Mapping

for Concerts & Events

  • From corporate events and brand launches to concerts, conferences and large-scale live shows, audiovisual content and light shows can significantly enhance any event stage design.
  • These technologies help create immersive stage environments that capture the audience’s attention, transform the atmosphere, and elevate the overall impact of live experiences. Dynamic visuals and lighting effects turn stages into engaging environments that strengthen storytelling and audience connection.

Stage Projection Mapping for Concerts and Events: CUPRA

  • For several Cupra corporate events like Cupra Munich or Cupra Tavascan Berlin E-Prix, we developed stage designs that highlight the brand’s character and the performance of its vehicles. Our approach focused on creating dynamic environments where physical scenography and digital content merge to enhance each presentation.
  • By integrating projection mapping, lighting and laser effects, we created immersive spaces that amplify the impact of the reveals and transform the stage into a narrative environment around the car. One of these projects took place at the IMAX in Barcelona during the America’s Cup, where we presented the new Cupra Terramar within a visually striking setting inspired by the Mediterranean atmosphere of the competition.
  • The immersive setup extended across multiple surfaces, surrounding the audience and creating a sense of depth throughout the space. As the vehicle’s features were introduced, the visual stage evolved with references such as the historic Terramar Circuit.

Stage Projection Mapping for Concerts and Events: Red Bull Batalla, Mexico City 2022

  •  We conceptualized and created the stage design for Red Bull Batalla 2022 in Mexico City. The set featured a Mayan pyramid-inspired structure with LED screens and a large background display where rappers performed freestyle battles. The concept was based on a fictional city that merged indigenous pre-Columbian elements with a futuristic aesthetic, blending historical symbolism with contemporary visual design.
  • Lighting also played a key role in the experience. Color changes, strobe effects and lasers were used to highlight the performers and enhance the energy of the stage, adding a dramatic visual layer to the performance.
  • The city was divided into six districts, Temple, Brutalist, Industrial, Innovation, Neon and Rational, each with its own atmosphere. From the Mayan-inspired Temple district to the vibrant Neon and minimalist Rational areas, each zone contributed to the overall visual narrative of the stage.

Stage Projection Mapping for Opera and Performing Arts: La Jove Aïda, Gran Teatre del Liceu 2025

  • The piece reimagines Verdi’s Aïda through a contemporary lens, aiming to bring classical opera closer to younger audiences through a modern visual and narrative language.
  • At Onionlab, we were responsible for developing the visual universe of La Jove Aïda, reinterpreting the world of Egypt from a contemporary perspective while paying tribute to the historical scenographic work of Josep Mestres Cabanes.

Stage Projection Mapping for Concerts and Festivals: CUPRA Pulse, Primavera Sound 2025

  • For the Cupra Pulse stage at Primavera Sound, we developed the visual content and lighting design to create an immersive environment where light, sound and space move in sync. The project transformed the stage into a dynamic audiovisual landscape where reflections, reactive visuals and beams of light responded to the rhythm of the music.
  • By combining digital content with spatial lighting design, the installation amplified the atmosphere of the performances and created a striking visual identity for the stage. The result was an engaging environment where technology and music merged, turning the space into a vibrant and immersive experience for the audience.
